1. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART
Here's a brief reflection on the song "Be Love" by Plus One:
"Well, if you need love,
Take time and be love,
Breathe it out create love,
See how things can turn."
Do you want to know a sure-fire cure for the blues? Be kind to someone, especially someone who doesn't deserve it. It may sound strange, but it is a biblical principle:
"Don't be misled. Remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it. You will always reap what you sow! Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit" (Galatians 6:7-8).
If you are feeling lonely, forgotten or just plain discouraged, take the day that the Lord has given you and invest a few hours of it in helping someone else. When you do this, when you are kind to others, when you intentionally go out of your way to be a blessing to someone else, you are fighting evil.
"Don't let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good" (Romans 12:21).
And when you are aggressively kind, God takes notice:
"Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free" (Ephesians 6:7-8).
So go on an all-out offensive against depression: be good to someone who doesn't deserve it and who can never pay you back for it. By doing that, you will be imitating Jesus, showing grace and mercy to others. And when you are like him, you will "be love."

All spiders are cannibals.
4. POTENT QUOTABLES
Be kind to unkind people--they need it the most.
- Unknown
An instant of pure love is more precious to God and the soul, and more profitable to the church, than all other good works together, though it may seem as if nothing were done.
- John of the Cross
No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.
