Books Read 2009

Since about 1994 I have recorded the books I have finished reading. Below is this year's list.

There are some good books on the list*, some of my favorites.

Two of my favorite Louis L'Amour books were re-read this year. Education of a Wandering Man is an autobiography of sorts where L'Amour recounts his early life and how he educated himself through reading and adventures around the world. The Walking Drum is a novel based in Europe during the 16th Century ... a great adventure. If you have never read L'Amour you are missing out on great heros, adventure, accurate geography and history and historical characters.

The Fool of God is a historical novel about Alexander Campbell the great 19th century American preacher/reformer. It is a great read about an amazing man and leader.

Owyhee Trails is an interesting history of the South Eastern Oregon dessert during the Indian Wars, grand ranches, and settling of this wild country in the 1800s.

See You At The Top by the great Zig Ziglar is recommended reading for all. Especially for leaders, both church leaders and business owners/leaders.

From Age-ing to Sage-ing is also a great read about a recommended paradigm shift about how we view aging and our Elders. I plan on blogging a longer review of this book in the weeks to come.
