The only Oregon residence Frank Lloyd Wright designed is now located on property near The Oregon Garden in Silverton.

His designs are very interesting ... very well thought out. He planned everything, from the design of the house to the furniture and the landscaping and most important where the house is located in on the land. His home designs incorporate the surrounding lay of the land and allow for indoor and outdoor living to mix and blend. The floor to ceiling door-windows all open to make for a very open main living area.

Tours are given by reservation for $5.

New Camera

Over the years I have had two cameras stolen. Both Canons (AE-1 and EOS 650) which I enjoyed very much. The last few years I have been camera-less.

For quite awhile I have been lusting over the Canon 40D, but it has been out of range because of its price. It is a great camera for many ways. Well we had some unexpected money come in recently, and I needed a camera for my construction business so I was able to purchase a 40D this past week before leaving for Elk hunting.

"The boys and I are watching the results of the presidential campaign. I told them that Obama is ahead right now. Zane said, "We have to do something!" I told him that we have done what we can; we voted.

October 6, 2008 Washington has just put every member of your family deeper in debt. Washington added $700 billion to what we owe, making our debt $11.3 trillion. That amounts to $37,667 for every man, woman and child in America. Several hundred million of this $700 billion bailout went for “pork barrel” spending which is unrelated to the financial crisis. The financial crisis is the result of power-hungry politicians telling Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make loans to people who could not afford them, and then Fannie and Freddie forced the banks they serve to do the same. Those who lived inside their means and bought what they could afford are seeing their retirement funds going down the drain while the responsible parties pocket their millions. We are fed up! We demand open congressional hearings to investigate this matter. If we don’t act now, the politicians will sweep this under the rug. • We want to know who did what, when and why that caused this crisis. • We are fed up with you mismanaging our money. • We are fed up with you “taking care of your buddies” in smoke-filled back rooms. • We are sick and tired of having our money taken from us and squandered by Washington for political gain. • We are tired of individuals doing a shoddy job of running a quasi-governmental operation and being paid $90,000,000 with our tax dollars. • We demand an explanation of how this crisis happened and who was responsible for it. • If laws were broken, we want those responsible prosecuted. • For those who acted unethically, we want to know who they are and what they did. • We want hearings on this matter, and we demand that they be open, not behind closed doors. • We hold Congress responsible to get to the bottom of this matter so that it will never happen again.

Siesta Travel Trailer - 1955 13 ft.

Our 1955 Siesta 13 foot camp trailer.

We bought it this summer from a guy in Coos Bay. He had replaced all the interior paneling and painted the exterior.

We have installed a bunk bed above the main bed in the back and plan on getting new mattresses for the bed and bunk (we're borrowing some now) and replacing the propane lines to the stove (they have been removed). I will also paint the wheels and get some chrome hub caps eventually.

Our first camping trip was to Detroit Reservoir East of Salem with my mom and step-dad.

Our first camping trip in our 13' 1955 Siesta Travel Trailer. Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Marsha invited us to camp with them at Detroit Lake this weekend. We had a grand time.

Squirrel Hunting

Zane and Grandma Boom-Boom set up a squirrel trap
when we were at Olallie Lake. Zane caught two squirrels
in the box, however he never figured out a way of getting
them out of the box. The first one quickly dug under the box,
the other Grandma tried to open the box and grab it with
socks on her hands, but the squirrel was too fast.
